Q: Why is your food gluten and sugar free?
A: Avoiding gluten and sugar can have a lot of health benefits, and we’ve felt them firsthand. We have increased energy, clearer skin and trimmer waistlines since we’ve embarked on clean eating. But there are bigger reasons people are seeking to reduce gluten and sugar in their diets, even if they aren’t coeliacs or diabetics. There’s a protein in gluten called gliadin that our bodies can’t fully break down. So the body recognises it as a bacteria rather than a protein, triggering an immune response. If you’re constantly exposed to this inflammation all the time, you increase your risk of disease.
Sugar has its own set of associated problems. For example, fructose accumulates in the liver, where it is converted directly into fat. This can cause everything from cirrhosis – even in non-drinkers – to insulin resistance. We think the research is weighted heavily against these substances, and we’ve removed them from our diet. The great thing about our food is that it’s so satisfying, and prepared with taste in mind, that you won’t ever miss the gluten or sugar.
Q: Where do your ingredients come from?
A: We’ve put a lot of thought into our sourcing, and are proud of finding suppliers who share our commitment to healthy and gourmet food. Here are some of our local and Spanish providers:

Q: What’s the nutritional content of your meals?
A: For each dish on our weekly menu, we provide the chef’s description (Rose says) and our nutritionist’s description (Mary says), where you’ll find information about the vitamins and minerals in each dish.
Q: How big are your portion sizes?
A: Each of our main dishes is designed to serve at least 150 grams of protein. Each dish is individually crafted by our chefs, so sizes may vary slightly at times. However, we strive to maintain a high level of consistency in portion size.
Q: I have food allergies. Can I use your service?
A: While our dishes are gluten and sugar free, we can’t guarantee that they are suitable for all diets. We list the ingredients of our dishes, but keep in mind that all our meals are cooked in the same small kitchen and thus may not be allergen-free.
Q: How do I place my order?
A: We now offer three ways to order! If you’re on the go, download our handy App, where you can place your order and follow the progress of your meal. If you’re reading this at your desk, you can order right here on our website. And if you’re passing through the neighborhood, we’d love to see you: place your order in person at our kitchen at 177c Priory Road, London.
Q: When can I order?
A: Our kitchen is open from 5:00pm to 9:30pm from Monday through Friday. We will accept orders via App, website or in person only during those hours.
Q: What happens if you run out of something?
A: Occasionally we may run out of a dish between the time you place it in your bag and the time you check out. We’ll let you know right away with a message on the app screen, and your bag will be automatically updated.
Q: How do I know my order is on its way?
A: You’ll receive a confirmation message on the app as well as an email. You can track the status of your order using the timeline on the app.
Q: What if I need to cancel my order?
A: Second thoughts? Need to make changes? You’ll have a minute after your order is confirmed to cancel your order free of charge.
Q: Where do you deliver?
A: We’re currently delivering in Highgate, Muswell Hill, Crouch End and Stroud Green in London. We plan to expand our delivery area soon.
Q: How do I know if I’m in your delivery area?
A: Once you’ve shared your location in the app, you’ll see a message if you are outside our service area.

Q: What kind of packaging do you use?
A: Our no-waste kitchen philosophy extends to our packaging, which is custom-made for us in Sussex with both the environment and food quality in mind. Our clever Kraft paper boxes have cutouts to hold your dishes tightly and separately, keeping everything upright and at the appropriate temperature. And our containers, which are made from plant materials, are fully compostable and biodegradable.
Q: How do you keep the food at the proper temperature during delivery?
A: We’ve figured out how to deliver your food as warm and fresh as though you’d prepared it at home. We prepare and package each item separately, then place your meal into thermal bags to keep the temperature steady without allowing it to continue to cook. There’s no mixing of temperatures, nor mixing of food.
