Rose & Mary in the local community

We love any opportunity to connect with people in our community, from opening our shop doors to delivering by bike. But it’s even better when we can support a great cause and meet health-minded people along the way.

Rose & Mary recently took part in two events that forged local partnerships and strengthened our ties to the community. They were also lots of fun and great excuses to eat well.

On a beautiful fall Sunday in September, the Coolhurst Tennis and Squash Club of Crouch End hosted a tennis tournament in support of North London Hospice, and we were honoured to donate the food for this worthy cause. This annual event raises funds for a charity that provides community members with end-of-life care, including physical, emotional and spiritual support, free of charge.

The participants enjoyed the final day of play on the club’s lawn courts, the spread of nourishing Rose & Mary dishes, and all the donations raised for a vital local charity.

The evening of October 1, we hosted an event in another classic neighbourhood landmark: the Victoria Stakes pub, a former coach house in Muswell Hill. Max Health, a local fitness and diet club, partnered with us for an appreciation night for 40 of their members. In this merry atmosphere, we motivated each other with our shared commitment to clean eating and healthy living. Our favourite compliment of the night was a question: after trying our miso aubergine crème, a woman asked, “Is this legal?” We were also pleased to note that there was some behind-the-scenes trading going on for extra portions of our crème brûlée.

We’ll be hosting and participating in more community events in the near future, and we hope to see you at one of them!
